McGraw-Hill's ACT Vocabulary

Overview

McGraw-Hill's ACT Vocabulary iPhone/iPod Touch application is a powerful study tool that will help you achieve the ACT score you want.


The content was created by teachers from Advantage Education, one of America’s most renowned test-prep course providers.


All of these words have been used on past ACTs. Some of them are included because former students asked about them. Some are included because they have been selected by experienced ACT instructors as representative of the vocabulary level that is expected on the ACT. We have also included some math and science terms with which you should be familiar. 


App Features

Flashcards

Over 500 easy-to-use flashcards. Once you mark a word as "known", it's moved to the Known box.  This allows you to continue building your vocabulary with new words.  At any point, you can reset and shuffle the deck to start over  Make sure to stay familiar with the items in the Known box.


Reference

A comprehensive, alphabetical listing of the words gives you an opportunity to review words at your own pace.  In the section, you can search for a specific word, scroll alphabetically through the word, or quickly jump to a letter with the A-Z side panel.


Setup

Setup provides the ability to set the orientation lock and default font size.  The orientation lock is used to prevent the screen from switching back and forth between horizontal and vertical orientations if the device is moved.  When set to "On" it will automatically lock the orientation 10 seconds after starting a flashcard session.  The default font size slider will set the font size used for the flashcards and reference screen descriptions.
